Cherry Creek welcomes back another one of its own. Payton was on varsity all 4 years and received All
American honors his senior year after being a 3 year starter. At Creek he played in 3 state
championship games and was a part of the 05 and 06 State Championship teams. He comes to us as a
recent graduate from The University of Denver where he was again a 3 year starter. While at DU he
played in the NCAA tournament twice in 2008 and 2010. Payton had the good fortune to be coached
by some of the greatest defensive minds in the game today at DU and will bring a ton of intensity and
knowledge to our defense this year.
